Heroes of Audio Land was one of those strange experiences where a couple of friends tried to out-silly each other. The event was the Anacortes High School Model United Nations. I was serving as the sound manager (making sure microphones worked etc.) I had graduated the previous year so that would put this in 1989 I guess. My buddy Brian (an ambassador from the Byelorussian SSR if I recall correctly) shot me a note through the messenger people called pages and addressed me as Audio Man (referencing my job). I drew him a quick little sketch of a super-hero with huge headphones and a dorky cape. He began sending me sketches of bad guys like Communist Bucket-head, Capitalist Pig and so many others. The comic soon followed and I think I finished it in a day. So the drawing sucks. But the story is humorous. And Brian will enjoy it.
